Komuter train overshoot cleared at Butterworth station

KTMB has cleared the overshot Komuter train at Butterworth Station, with services resuming and no injuries reported.

BUTTERWORTH: The operation to clear a six-car Komuter train that overshot the track at Platform 4 of Butterworth Station has been successfully completed.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) confirmed passenger services resumed at 7.51 pm yesterday following the recovery work.

“KTMB extends its appreciation to all passengers for their patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the recovery process,” the company said in a statement.

The train involved was not carrying passengers and was undergoing routine daily operations when the incident occurred.

No injuries or casualties were reported from the overshoot incident.

KTMB stated that further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.

The railway company emphasised its commitment to improving service quality and ensuring passenger safety remains its top priority.

Updates on the investigation findings will be issued in due course as the probe continues. – Bernama
