KUSKOP’s first 2026 stakeholder session addresses MSME hurdles like capital access and bureaucracy, aligning with the new RM80 billion empowerment initiative.
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) has begun its 2026 stakeholder engagement series with micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) industry players.
Minister Steven Sim held the first session today with leaders from seven key business associations.
The associations present included the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing and the SME Association of Malaysia.
KUSKOP said the business leaders welcomed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent announcement of an RM80 billion initiative to empower local MSMEs.
The meeting discussed challenges facing the business community, including access to capital and bureaucracy.
Minister Sim emphasised that the concerns raised align with his ‘ABCD Strategy’.
This strategy focuses on accelerating productivity, reducing bureaucracy, improving capital access and developing market access.
Sim said yesterday the nearly RM80 billion initiative would boost the MSME sector.
He stated it would enhance cash flow liquidity and ensure business continuity.
