The Education Ministry will open applications for 20,000 Grade DG9 teacher positions on a contract basis from March 2 to March 20.
PUTRAJAYA: Applications for 20,000 Grade DG9 Education Service Officer positions will open from March 2 to 20.
Education director-general Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad said the posts are offered on a contract or Contract of Service basis.
He said the recruitment aims to meet the nationwide demand for teachers.

An official announcement on the recruitment of new teachers will be made on February 23.
Screening and interviews are scheduled from April 27 to May 14, 2026, in collaboration with the Education Services Commission.
Azam said this large-scale initiative is part of early preparations for the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026–2035.
It also supports the voluntary enrolment of six-year-old pupils into Year One starting next year.
“MOE is committed to ensuring sufficient teaching staff and improving the quality of national education in line with the MADANI Government’s agenda,” he said.
Selected candidates will undergo specialist training at the Ministry of Education’s Institute of Teacher Education.
This training will be in various fields of specialisation prior to their postings.
“This initiative reflects the MADANI Government’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of national education for the benefit of Malaysian children,” he added. – Bernama
