TalentCorp and EY Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (EY Ripples) sign an RM110 million MoU for the MyMahir AI Roadshow, aiming to train 22,000 people across 60 constituencies.
SUNGAI BULOH: TalentCorp has signed an RM110 million partnership with EY Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (EY Ripples) to expand the MyMahir AI Roadshow programme.
The initiative aims to equip 22,000 Malaysians nationwide with practical artificial intelligence skills.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the national approach to AI must be inclusive and people-centric.
“AI is currently reshaping the way Malaysians work across various sectors,” he said at the MoU signing ceremony.
“The government’s responsibility is to ensure that no one is left behind and that citizens are equipped with practical skills to remain productive, competitive, and employable.”
He added that TalentCorp is ensuring national talent priorities are translated into practical AI learning delivered directly to communities.
The roadshow will be held in 60 parliamentary constituencies, offering tailored training for students, employees, women, and entrepreneurs.
It focuses on AI applications that can immediately increase productivity, generate income, and enhance employability.
Four pilot programmes have already been conducted in Sabah and Selangor, reflecting high national demand.
TalentCorp cited an urgent need to accelerate AI upskilling efforts across the workforce.
Its impact study estimates about 685,000 workers could be affected in the next three to five years without intensified reskilling.
These findings are supported by an ISIS Malaysia study indicating 45% of the workforce has tasks replaceable by current AI.
