Malaysia launches PRISMA centre to tackle sensitive unity issues

Malaysia’s National Unity Ministry launches PRISMA centre for systematic handling of sensitive community issues, alongside a new management framework

PUTRAJAYA: The Community Sensitive Issues Reference Centre (PRISMA) has been established to address and manage unity issues more effectively.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN) will coordinate all unity issue mechanisms through this new centre.

“This step is aimed at ensuring a systematic, integrated, and strategic approach in addressing unity challenges,” he said during the 2026 National Unity Ministry (KPN) address.

He added that the ministry will finalise the Unity Issues Management Framework (IRM) as an integrated master document to coordinate agency actions.

“KPN carries a great responsibility to be a bridge of unity in a diverse society,” Aaron stated.

The ministry’s theme for 2026 is ‘Building the Nation Together’, aligning with the MADANI Government’s aspirations under the 13th Malaysia Plan.

“The nation-state is very important for Malaysia today because it is the foundation of P.U.S.H., which means the peace, unity, stability, and harmony of a multiracial country,” he explained.

The ministry’s work plan will focus on five main clusters: Tunas MADANI, Komuniti MADANI, Harmoni MADANI, Rakyat MADANI and Warisan MADANI.

Several engagement sessions and a Nation-Building Conference in September will aim to produce a Nation-Building Blueprint.

This blueprint will serve as a reference for government agencies in formulating new policies and initiatives.

The ministry also aims to present the Malaysia Museums Bill to Parliament this year.

Furthermore, it will review the Deposit of Library Material Act 1986 through the National Library of Malaysia to improve access to scientific materials.

At the address ceremony, Aaron appointed official media partners for the Nation State initiative.

The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), and the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) all received appointment certificates.
