KKDW will use case studies and on-the-ground insights to shape rural policies including the 13th Malaysia Plan, says Ahmad Zahid
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the formulation of rural development policies, including the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), will be based on on-the-ground realities to ensure they truly benefit the people.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, said the matter was discussed during a meeting with members of ThinkTank@KKDW yesterday to hear case study presentations that will serve as input in formulating the policy.
“I would like to thank the entire ThinkTank@KKDW team for their commitment and the views shared.
“God willing, we will continue to strengthen this collaboration so that every effort undertaken will yield the best outcomes for all stakeholders, particularly the rural communities we serve,” he said in a Facebook post today.
He also outlined the Rural and Regional Development Ministry’s (KKDW) aspiration to remain a future-ready ministry, adding that existing approaches must be continuously reassessed to enable the ministry to operate more efficiently, swiftly and effectively.
“A high-performance work culture, integrity, accountability and delivery excellence must remain the core principles among all ministry personnel,” he said.
