The 10-day Kekar Malindo exercise between Malaysian and Indonesian armies aims to strengthen military cooperation and share tactical knowledge.
SRI AMAN: The 48AB/2025 series of the Kekar Malindo Exercise between the Malaysian Army and Indonesian National Army commenced today with an opening ceremony at Pakit Camp.
This 10-day bilateral exercise involves the 13th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment and Indonesia’s 641/Bear Infantry Battalion.
Training activities include theoretical classes, cross-training exercises and field training exercises in the Bayai area of Sri Aman.
“This exercise is an annual training between TDM and TNI-AD aimed at further strengthening cooperation through the sharing of knowledge, doctrines, as well as tactics, techniques and procedures in infantry operations,” according to a 3rd Brigade Headquarters statement.
Brigadier General Khairuddin Zakaria and Colonel Inf Misael Marthen Jenry Polii officiated the opening ceremony with the Toha insignia presentation to participating personnel.
The exercise aligns with the Defence Diplomacy Shift pillar of the 30th Chief of Army’s Maiden Directive, enhancing joint training with friendly nations. – Bernama
