Man drowns after slipping into pool at Lata Kinjang waterfall

A 33-year-old man drowned after slipping into a pool at Lata Kinjang Waterfall near Chenderiang, with rescue team confirming his death at scene.

IPOH: A 33-year-old man drowned after slipping into a pool at the Lata Kinjang Waterfall area near Chenderiang yesterday.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting operations chief Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah stated they received a distress call at 5.10 pm.

A team from Tapah Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the location approximately 15 kilometres away at 5.35 pm.

The rescue team hiked about one kilometre to reach the top of the waterfall where the victim slipped.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victim slipped into the pool at the waterfall’s highest level and lost consciousness.

The victim’s friend performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before calling for help when there was no response.

Rescue personnel brought the victim down before a Health Ministry medical team confirmed his death at the site.

The victim’s body has been handed over to police for further action. – Bernama
