Melaka’s Industrial Booster centre has helped 72 companies speed up land transfers and approvals, cutting bureaucratic delays for investors
MELAKA: The state government is accelerating industrial development through the Melaka Industrial Booster, a one-stop centre designed to streamline investment processes.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said MIB consolidates 29 agencies to prevent long delays caused by bureaucratic procedures for industry players.
He stated that 72 companies have already used the MIB system to expedite processes like land transfers, ownership approvals, and start-of-work procedures.
“We are fully leveraging this mechanism to provide stronger support for investors coming into Melaka,” he told reporters after officiating the Chief Minister’s Industrial Excellence Award.
Ab Rauf added that MIB has facilitated 72 projects at various stages, underscoring the state’s commitment to a business-friendly ecosystem.
He emphasised that industrial development must deliver tangible benefits for the people of Melaka.
“Investors continue to view Melaka as an ideal choice to expand their industries,” he said, expressing confidence that MIB will boost investor support.
The awards ceremony saw Medivest Sdn Bhd and CSC Steel Sdn Bhd win the top Chief Minister’s Award honours.
Medivest also received the Services Sector Excellence Award, while CSC Steel won the Manufacturing Sector Excellence Award.
The 2025 edition marks the return of CMIEA after a 10-year hiatus, featuring five prestigious awards.
This year’s assessment followed the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework, guided by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation.
A total of 12 companies participated in the programme, showcasing the diversity of Melaka’s industrial sector. – Bernama
