Melaka’s HEBAT programme enables direct public-Exco meetings, resolving 80% of 200 complaints within two months, focusing on development and welfare.
MELAKA: The ‘Hari Exco Bersama Rakyat’ (HEBAT) programme strengthens connections between the Melaka government and its people by addressing public needs directly.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said this initiative allows residents from all 28 state constituencies to meet executive council members face-to-face without intermediaries.
“The people must be cared for, and their voices must be heard,” he said during the Dak Rauf Masuk Konti segment on MelakaFM.
Ab Rauf highlighted that the upcoming November 13 programme follows the success of its inaugural edition, which received nearly 200 complaints statewide.
Eighty percent of those complaints were resolved within two months, with most issues involving development, infrastructure, welfare aid, economic support and cleanliness.
The state government has established a Key Performance Indicator requiring simple, low-cost cases to be resolved within two weeks.
All departments and agencies must regularly update complaint statuses so the public can track progress.
Ab Rauf emphasised that every state government initiative aims to benefit Melaka residents and ensure their voices receive due attention.
The HEBAT programme will feature various service counters from state and federal departments to facilitate public dealings.
Melaka residents are invited to attend the session at Seri Negeri Complex in Ayer Keroh. – Bernama
