KUALA LUMPUR: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin officiated the 31st Chief of Army Rank-Wearing Ceremony for General Datuk Azhan Md Othman at Wisma Pertahanan.
A statement from the Army Public Relations Cell said Azhan’s leadership and experience would ensure continuity in command and reinforce the force’s readiness.
It stated that integrity, transparent governance, and military values would be strengthened as the core of his leadership.
This approach aligns with the Future Force strategic initiative, known as the Land Domain Strategy, which supports the Defence White Paper.
The agenda for the well-being of Army personnel and their families will also continue to be upheld.
In the statement, the new Army Chief expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and the Malaysian Government for their trust.
Azhan called on all Army personnel to unite and enhance performance to ensure the force remains a professional and trusted institution.

He was commissioned as a second lieutenant of the Royal Malay Regiment on July 29, 1989.
