Digital Minister says over 1.45 million participants have enrolled in free AI and digital modules on the Rakyat Digital Portal to date.
KUALA LUMPUR: More than 1.45 million participants have joined the free modules offered on the Rakyat Digital Portal to date.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the initiative is part of efforts to realise Malaysia’s aspiration to become an Artificial Intelligence Nation and a regional hub by 2030.
He emphasised a key focus on comprehensive local talent development at all levels.

“The Rakyat Digital Portal is a free online self-learning platform to increase basic AI literacy,” he said during a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.
The portal offers modules such as AI for the People, Generative AI, AI Fluency, and other digital topics.
Additionally, AI at Work 2.0 has been introduced in collaboration with Google.
This programme aims to equip 445,000 civil servants with generative AI tools to boost efficiency and productivity in public service.
Gobind was responding to a question from Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen regarding Malaysia’s plans to achieve its AI Nation aspiration by 2030. – Bernama
