KUANTAN: Pahang police recorded losses totalling RM96 million from commercial crime throughout 2025.
State police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said 3,199 investigation papers were opened for such offences last year.
The Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) arrested 2,106 individuals, an increase of 330 arrests from the previous year.
“In addition, a total of 738 commercial crime prevention programmes were held throughout 2025 to strengthen public awareness of crime threats,” he said.
Yahaya addressed the media during a monthly gathering at the Pahang contingent police headquarters on Monday.
He said the CCID achieved a case resolution rate of 68.76% last year.
The Pekan district led this performance with a resolution rate of 86.17%.
For narcotics, police recorded 11,927 cases involving various drug-related offences.
A total of 13,522 individuals were arrested by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID).
Yahaya also revealed that 444 fatal accident cases were recorded in 2025.
This marked an increase of 25 cases compared to the total for 2024.
Police issued 184,769 traffic summonses throughout the year, slightly lower than the 189,293 issued previously.
Commenting on a separate case, Yahaya confirmed the arrest of two officers and five police personnel last Saturday.
The individuals were detained on suspicion of involvement in drug abuse at a shop in Mentakab, Temerloh.
He said investigations are ongoing and all seven have been reassigned to administrative duties.
