Sultan of Pahang and Tengku Ampuan arrive in Kuching for a four-day official visit to strengthen ties with Sarawak
KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, departed for Sarawak today for a four-day official visit.
Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by their son Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah and his wife Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan.
The royal couple were received upon arrival at Kuching International Airport by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Also present to welcome them were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Several programmes have been arranged for Their Royal Highnesses during the visit to Sarawak.
The itinerary includes a state banquet and visits to key institutions and major attractions in the state.
Their Royal Highnesses will also attend the closing ceremony of the 2025 Sarawak Regatta and the 2025 Borneo Craft Festival.
The royal visit is scheduled to continue until next Monday.
This official visit is expected to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the state governments of Pahang and Sarawak. – Bernama
