Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Qatar’s former deputy PM Khalid Al Attiyah discuss strategic cooperation and investment opportunities for both nations.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy call from Qatar’s former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Khalid Mohammad Al Attiyah.
The meeting took place at the prime minister’s office in the Parliament Building.
Anwar said they exchanged views on current issues and potential strategic and investment cooperation.
“This meeting reflects a continuous commitment to strengthening Malaysia-Qatar bilateral relations,” he posted on Facebook.
The discussion focused on areas of cooperation that could be strengthened for mutual benefit.
This engagement follows a meeting between Anwar and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, last May.
That meeting, held during the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, covered strategic cooperation in various sectors.
Areas discussed included investment, trade, defence, energy, the digital industry, connectivity, and education.
