Flood evacuee numbers have decreased in Sarawak and Perak this morning, with 140 and 83 people remaining in relief centres respectively
KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees housed at temporary relief centres in Sarawak and Perak has decreased this morning.
In Sarawak, 140 people from 136 flood evacuees and four landslide victims remain at three centres in Miri as of 8 am.
This is down from 152 people reported last night.
According to the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, 109 flood victims are at Sekolah Kebangsaan Suai Niah.
A further 23 people are sheltering at SK Kampung Angus.
Four flood victims and four landslide victims are housed at the Dewan Bulan Sabit Merah relief centre.
In Perak, 83 people remain at two centres in Hilir Perak this morning, compared to 111 last night.
The Perak SDMC Secretariat said 52 people are at the Kampung Padang Tembak Multipurpose Hall.
Another 31 evacuees are sheltering at the Hilir Perak Police Headquarters Multipurpose Hall.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast a storm for all districts in Perak this afternoon.
The forecast excludes the districts of Kerian, Manjung, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datu. – Bernama
