Kuala Lumpur hit by landslides, fallen trees after heavy rain

Four landslides and three fallen trees reported across Kuala Lumpur following continuous heavy rain, with firefighters conducting observation and rescue work.

KUALA LUMPUR: Four landslides and three incidents of fallen trees were reported across Kuala Lumpur following continuous heavy rain.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Operations Centre confirmed the incidents occurred at various locations throughout the city.

Three fallen trees were reported at Jalan Ang Seng 4 in Brickfields at 9.24 am, Jalan Langgak Golf in Taman U Thant at 11.10 am, and Jalan Kiara 5 in Desa Kiaramas at 5.45 pm.

Landslides occurred at Block C Pangsapuri Kos Rendah Jalan Sepadu 6 in Taman United at 11.02 am, Jalan Maarof in Bangsar at 11.20 am, Jalan Medang Tanduk in Bukit Bandaraya at 3.24 pm, and Sri Lempah Flats along Lorong Jugra – Jalan Klang Lama at 4.32 pm.

Firefighters attended all locations to conduct observation and rescue work with assistance from Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s emergency units.

The department confirmed that firefighters remained at locations requiring continued observation.
