A six-year-old girl reported missing in Daro, Sarawak, was found drowned in Sungai Daro after a search and rescue operation.
DARO: A six-year-old girl reported missing in Daro was found drowned today.
Her body was discovered floating in Sungai Daro near Kampung Lemang Pek at 4 pm.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said its search and rescue team located the victim and informed the police.
The body was brought ashore at the Kampong Panchor jetty before being taken to hospital.
According to the department, the girl had left her home alone through the back gate without her parents’ knowledge.
Her father later found footprints leading to the river around 1 pm and alerted the Fire Department.
