Dewan Rakyat focuses on NCD reduction initiatives, foreign national monitoring under MM2H, and ASEAN non-tariff barrier reduction for SMEs.
KUALA LUMPUR: Non-communicable diseases and monitoring of foreign nationals with long-term visas headline today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting.
According to the Parliament Order Paper, Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan (BN-Kuala Pilah) will question the Health Minister about initiatives to reduce NCD burdens like diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
He seeks details on integrated approaches promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening primary healthcare services.
The MP will also request clarification on cross-ministerial cooperation to ensure nationwide effectiveness of public health interventions.
Mohd Hasnizan Harun (PN-Hulu Selangor) will ask the Home Minister to outline monitoring measures for foreign nationals with long-term visas or in the Malaysia My Second Home Programme.
This aims to ensure compliance with national laws and prevent involvement in activities threatening public safety.
Meanwhile, Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor) will question the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister about steps to help ASEAN reduce non-tariff barriers.
This initiative supports growth of small and medium enterprises across the region.
Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue debating the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026. – Bernama
