Parliament to debate Israel sanctions and religious school funding

Malaysian Parliament discusses punitive measures against Israel and 2025 allocations for religious schools among key agenda items today

KUALA LUMPUR: Punitive measures against Israel and funding for religious schools dominate today’s parliamentary agenda.

According to the Order Paper, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) will question the Foreign Minister about concrete steps following Malaysia’s call for punitive action against Israel at the recent Arab-Islamic Summit in Qatar.

He will also seek clarification on whether this includes indirect links through technology supply chains, third-party trade, or security and cyber cooperation.

Meanwhile, Datuk Ahmad Saad @ Yahaya (PN-Pokok Sena) will ask the Prime Minister about total aid and allocations provided to people’s religious schools this year.

Datuk Suhaimi Nasir (BN-Libaran) will question the Agriculture and Food Security Minister about new economic programmes for Sabah youth in digital economy, agropreneurship and modern fisheries.

Aminolhuda Hassan (PH-Sri Gading) will raise questions about Malaysia’s food security level during import restrictions and strategies for national self-sufficiency.

Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias (BN-Jelebu) will ask the Youth and Sports Minister about policies supporting e-sports growth as an economic contributor rather than mere entertainment.

Also scheduled for first reading are the National Skills Development (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Skills Development Fund (Amendment) Bill 2025.

The Dewan Rakyat will later continue committee-level debate on the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 for relevant ministries.

The third meeting of the fourth session of the 15th Parliament runs for 35 days until Dec 4. – Bernama
