Parliament to debate MADANI Economic Policy effectiveness and revenue leakage

Dewan Rakyat discusses MADANI Economic Policy implementation assessment, revenue leakage figures, and identity card misuse prevention measures

KUALA LUMPUR: The effectiveness of the MADANI Economic Policy implementation and revenue leakage figures dominated parliamentary discussions today.

Aminolhuda Hassan (PH-Sri Gading) questioned how the government assesses the policy’s effectiveness over 18 to 24 months.

He also sought details on ongoing and planned efforts to strengthen implementation and ensure full objective achievement.

Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN-Tampin) requested the latest figures on confiscated proceeds and penalties collected by enforcement agencies.

His question focused on measures to strengthen efforts against national revenue leakage.

Zahir Hassan (PH-Wangsa Maju) directed questions to the Home Minister regarding identity card misuse arrests and prosecutions.

He sought explanations on identity theft cases and the sale of such documents.

The MP also inquired about strategies to protect identity card holder data from theft and fraudulent sales.

He asked about enforcement and prevention mechanisms currently being implemented.

Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat proceeded with committee-level debate on the Supply Bill 2026.

The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament continues until December 4.
