PUTRAJAYA: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan has strongly condemned the provocative act led by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and thousands of illegal settlers who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
He described the incursion as a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islam’s first qibla and the status quo of the holy site, saying it was a deliberate attempt to inflame sentiments and provoke religious tensions.
“The actions of the Zionist regime reflected its disregard for international law and the right to freedom of religion,” he said in a statement today.
He said Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs to the Muslim ummah and must be defended, adding that the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) called on the international community and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to act swiftly and firmly to put an end to such continued actions.
He added that, in solidarity with the Malaysian people, in the spirit of Malaysia MADANI, his ministry remained steadfast in supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle.
He also called on Muslims in Malaysia and around the world to remain united, strengthen their prayers and voice their opposition to any form of encroachment on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
