Sabah’s strength lies in racial and religious harmony, says Tun Musa

Sabah’s multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony is its greatest strength, says Tun Musa Aman, urging continued unity for prosperity

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman (pic) has called on all Malaysians to continue fostering harmonious relations among people of different races and religions.

He described the harmony enjoyed by Sabah’s multi-ethnic and multi-religious society as the state’s greatest strength that must be preserved.

“Our state and nation will surely prosper when the people uphold tolerance and mutual respect,” he said in his Christmas and New Year message.

Tun Musa said this year’s Christmas celebration carries important messages of love, peace and hope vital for building a united society.

He added that the celebration serves as an ideal platform to strengthen unity and reinforce the spirit of togetherness.

Touching on the challenges faced throughout 2025, he said Sabah had experienced global economic uncertainty and climate change.

He noted the people of Sabah have once again demonstrated their strength and resilience in facing these challenges.

Inclusive economic development remains a key priority of the state government, he added.

He stressed that various inclusive initiatives are being implemented to ensure development benefits are distributed fairly.

These efforts are in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya aspirations, he said.

Looking ahead to 2026, Tun Musa urged the people to cultivate a renewed spirit and commitment to move forward.

He called on Sabahans to face the rapidly changing world with confidence.

He also expressed his highest appreciation to members of the public service and security forces.

He thanked them for their commitment and cooperation in advancing the development of Sabah.
