SARA aid letters sent to 5.4 million recipients nationwide

The MADANI Government is sending SARA aid letters to 5.4 million eligible recipients in stages to ensure targeted distribution of the RM5 billion allocation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Letters for the Basic Rahmah Contribution (SARA) are being distributed in stages to 5.4 million eligible recipients across the country.

The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department clarified that this notification process ensures all recipients are aware of their eligibility for the government aid.

“We take note of the issue regarding the letter received by SARA recipients,” stated the JPM ICU Corporate Communications Unit.

The MADANI Government has allocated RM5 billion for the SARA programme to ease the cost of living burden for millions.

This notification method mirrors the process used for the annual Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) to ensure aid reaches its intended groups.

The government is committed to continuously improving SARA’s implementation for greater impact on recipients’ lives.

Improvements include expanding product categories and increasing the number of participating shops and supermarkets.

These efforts aim to prioritise the people’s well-being through the nationwide initiative.

A letter about the programme recently went viral on social media amid claims it was linked to the upcoming Sabah State Election. – Bernama
