Selangor govt to ensure LRT3 connectivity facilities complete and conducive – Exco

The Selangor State Government is taking steps to ensure that connectivity facilities around the Shah Alam Line LRT3 stations are completed immediately to ensure a conducive environment for users.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor State Government is taking steps to ensure that connectivity facilities around the Shah Alam Line LRT3 stations are completed immediately to ensure a conducive environment for users.

State Local Government and Tourism Exco Datuk Ng Sue Lim said his party is currently focusing on resolving issues arising around Shah Alam Stadium Station and Dato’ Menteri Station involving infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways and zebra crossings.

“For Dato’ Menteri Station, I was informed that it involves matters such as permit applications and so on and we have instructed Prasarana to complete the relevant facilities within two months.

“For Shah Alam Stadium Station, it will take some time because it involves a tender process by nearby developers but we will monitor it. A completed project will have some weaknesses but after it is running on the ground we have identified the issues so we take responsibility to ask the relevant parties to resolve them immediately,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after inspecting the public connectivity infrastructure which was also attended by Exco Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi.

Ng said the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) would also monitor the progress of the improvements involved, in addition to a coordination meeting with the relevant developers would also be held to ensure that the process was carried out as soon as possible to ensure good facilities for users.

He said Local Authorities (PBT) that have stations in their respective districts would also be instructed to conduct a review to identify any shortcomings involving connectivity facilities.

“We admit there are weaknesses, but we are taking drastic steps to try to resolve them. I will ask the Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) and any relevant PBT to monitor all council members and assemblymen to give feedback,” he said.
