All state secretaries commit to federal public service reforms, prioritising people’s wellbeing over political differences, says chief secretary
PUTRAJAYA: All state secretaries have pledged full cooperation with the federal government to implement public service reforms, setting aside political differences for the people’s benefit.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said this commitment was conveyed during a Special Pleno Session Meeting he chaired.
The meeting was held alongside the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku Programme and the 2025 National Convention on Public Service Reform.
Shamsul Azri stated that public service reform must be driven collectively by federal, state, and local governments.
When asked about improvements after three years of the MADANI Government, he said all initiatives follow two key principles.
“Actually, everything we do is based on the principle that no one is left behind and that all our actions are for the well-being of the people,” he told Bernama.
He added that the Rancakkan MADANI Programme had attracted 177,000 visitors by 1 pm today, reflecting public interest in service transformation.
The programme’s highlight will be a Special Convention Session officiated by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
They are expected to present the government’s achievements over the past three years and its future plans.
“This convention offers a clear view of our achievements over the past three years and what the focus of reforms will be for the next two years,” Shamsul Azri said.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony at 11 am on Sunday.
The second day continues tonight with the Gema Qalbi Concert featuring performances by Faizal Tahir and other artists.
The three-day programme, which began on Friday, features over 300 public service touchpoints and a career carnival.
Organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through PACU, the event targets 300,000 attendees.
It builds on the momentum of previous annual reports to the people on government achievements.
The concurrent 2025 National Convention on Public Service Reform brings together civil service policymakers and industry players. – Bernama
