Sultanah Nur Zahirah expresses condolences to family of Syakirah Hanan

Sultanah Nur Zahirah conveys condolences to family of postgraduate student Syakirah Hanan Mazli, who died in a road accident near Kuala Terengganu.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Sultanah of Terengganu, Sultanah Nur Zahirah, has expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family of Syakirah Hanan Mazli, who was killed in a road accident.

Her Royal Highness’s condolences were relayed through the vice-chancellor of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam.

Sultanah Nur Zahirah, who is also the Chancellor of UniSZA, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the university’s postgraduate student.

“I respectfully convey Her Royal Highness Sultanah Nur Zahirah’s heartfelt condolences and profound sense of sadness to the family of the late Syakirah Hanan Mazli,” Fadzli said in a statement.

He added that the Sultanah hopes the family remains patient and strong, praying that Allah SWT places her soul among the people of Jannah.

Syakirah Hanan, 25, was driving a Perodua Viva from UniSZA towards Bukit Kecil when the accident occurred.

Her vehicle was struck by a speeding Honda Jazz from the opposite direction as she made a right turn at a green traffic light.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe injuries.
