Terengganu secures RM399.8 million in total investments for 1Q 2026, led by the services and manufacturing sectors
KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu recorded total investments worth RM399.8 million in the first quarter of this year.
State Digital Economy, New Income, Trade, Industry and Green Technology committee chairman Mohd Nurkhuzaini Ab Rahman said the total investments comprised RM336.4 million (84.1 per cent) in the services sector and RM63.4 million (15.9 per cent) in the manufacturing sector.
“Domestic investment contributed 87.1 per cent, or RM348.4 million, of the total approved investments, while foreign investment accounted for 12.9 per cent, or RM51.5 million,” he said during the question-and-answer session at the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly sitting at Wisma Darul Iman here, today.
He was responding to a question from Ahmad Shah Muhamed (PAS–Bandar) regarding the value of confirmed investments for the first quarter of 2026 (1Q 2026) and what prospective investments could be considered for this year.
Mohd Nurkhuzaini said there are currently nine potential investment projects under consideration, involving the utilities, renewable energy, logistics, and hospitality sectors.
For the same period, he said the value of investments approved under the jurisdiction of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) totalled RM91.2 million.
The approved investments cover four projects, which are expected to create 254 job opportunities, he added.
