Two women died after their car was struck by a 4WD that veered into the opposite lane following a collision with a buffalo on Jalan Kebun Baru–Bukit Serampang
TANGKAK: Two women were killed when their car was struck by a four-wheel-drive vehicle that lost control after hitting a buffalo.
The incident occurred at KM33 Jalan Kebun Baru–Bukit Serampang.
Tangkak police chief Supt Roslan Mohd Talib said a Mitsubishi Triton veered into the opposite lane after the collision with the animal.
The 4WD then crashed into a Honda City carrying a family of four.
A 74-year-old woman in the front passenger seat of the Honda City was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 42-year-old driver later succumbed to her injuries at Tangkak Hospital.
Two other passengers in the Honda City and the driver of the 4WD sustained injuries and were taken to the same hospital for treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
