Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says his health is improving after cancelling a Pahang visit due to back pain, thanking everyone for their prayers.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed his health is gradually improving.
He expressed gratitude to all who have prayed for his wellbeing in a Facebook post today.
The post included a video showing him spending time with his daughter and granddaughter.
“Healing with my granddaughter. Alhamdulillah, I’m gradually recovering. Thank you for all your prayers,” the post read.
Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Office said Anwar cancelled his working visit to Pahang on medical advice.
He experienced back pain that limited his movement and required adequate rest.
The PMO said the Prime Minister sincerely apologised, especially to the people of Pahang who had prepared to welcome him.
Anwar returned home on Saturday after concluding his working visit to South Korea.
He had led the Malaysian delegation to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting last Friday.
Prior to that, he chaired the 47th ASEAN Summit here from October 26 to 28. – Bernama
