KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on society to continue appreciating the legacy of the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee.
Anwar described P. Ramlee as a national treasure whose work reflects the nation’s values, culture, and artistic identity.
He stated that P. Ramlee’s contributions extend beyond entertainment to teach creativity and dedication.
The Prime Minister shared his experience attending the P. Ramlee ‘Madu Tiga’ Live Concert at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).
He praised conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose and his team for their impressive musical performance.
Anwar expressed hope that the current generation would preserve this artistic heritage.
The two-day concert at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas features a screening of the classic film ‘Madu Tiga’ with live musical accompaniment.
This event marks the MPO’s second live accompaniment of a local film, following ‘OlaBola’ in 2017.
