Pakatan Harapan aims to bring outstation voters in northern Johor home for the upcoming state election, says Zaliha Mustafa.
SEGAMAT: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is targeting outstation voters, particularly those from rural pockets in Johor’s northern region, to return home and exercise their democratic rights in the upcoming state election.
Johor PKR chairperson Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the economic imbalance, affecting North Johor, has historically driven local talent away from their hometowns, and these outstation voters need to choose the right government that could develop their hometown.
“We have to just bring them back and make them realise that they also have to play their roles in choosing what is the best government for Johor and working together with the federal government,” she told reporters.
She said this on the sideline of the Ceramah Perdana Johor Ke Depan Undi Harapan here, today.
Meanwhile, Zaliha also dismissed any threat from the newly formed Parti Bersama as the party have minimal visible presence.
“They are actually a splinter of Pakatan Harapan or splinter Keadilan. So, they’re still very new and we haven’t seen that much movement of Bersama on the ground.
“I think Keadilan still in the heart of the people because we have been around 27-28 years and now the federal government is being led by our president,” she said.
The Election Commission (EC) has set June 27 as nomination day for the Johor state election, while July 7 is for early voting and July 11 is polling day.
