Sabah’s GLC leadership reshuffle aims to strengthen governance, improve performance, and drive the state’s SMJ 2.0 development goals
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government will commence a comprehensive restructuring of state government-linked companies (GLCs).
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the process involves appointing new chairmen and board members.
He stated the move is an administrative necessity to strengthen corporate governance and accountability.
It also aims to inject new leadership to improve performance and drive the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development goal.
“Our goal is to make GLCs an effective and reliable economic catalyst through competent management,” Hajiji said.
He added this is to generate greater value for the people and the state.
Hajiji stressed the need for a dynamic, professional and results-oriented leadership team.
This new team will steer an era driven by strategic investment, digitalisation, new energy and social development.
“We appreciate the contributions of the previous leadership, but a reshuffle is necessary to ensure effective transformation and continuity,” he said.
The chief minister said the priority is to ensure a stable, prosperous and secure future for Sabah.
This future must align with the aspirations of the SMJ 2.0 development plan. – Bernama
