Ten boarding schools in Negeri Sembilan have installed CCTV systems in a RM150,000 initiative to enhance safety and reduce parental concerns.

PORT DICKSON: Ten boarding schools in Negeri Sembilan have each been equipped with eight closed-circuit television (CCTV) units to enhance student safety.

The initiative, costing a total of RM150,000, was funded by the Ministry of Education.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the first phase of installation was completed at the end of last year.

A second phase, involving three daily boarding schools in Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Rembau, will begin next month.

Installation for other schools will be carried out in stages according to needs and priorities.

“The initiative proves the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of students and teachers, while also reducing parents’ concerns about the safety aspects of their children at school,” said Aminuddin.

He stated that safety is the government’s top priority and promise to parents.

He added that every incident within school premises is not taken lightly, with steps always taken to improve matters.

Improvements also include placing police representatives in selected schools.

Close monitoring is conducted at the ministry, education department, school administration, and district education office levels.

“I am confident that our educators’ families are capable of providing the best protection for their students,” he added.
