Pahang government has collected RM950 million revenue so far this year and remains optimistic about achieving its RM1 billion target.
LIPIS: The Pahang government has recorded revenue collection of RM950 million so far this year according to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
He stated that the government remains optimistic about achieving its RM1 billion revenue target by the end of the year.
This would continue the state’s record of surpassing the billion-ringgit mark achieved since 2022.
“After taking into account expenditures, including salary payments and management costs amounting to RM600 million, the remaining revenue will be channelled back to the people through various welfare initiatives,” he told reporters after officiating the “Jelajah Wira MADANI” programme at Laman Sejahtera, Sungai Koyan.

He listed assistance for children pursuing higher education, incentives for first-time marriages, support for religious programmes and the Pahang People’s Housing Project among the welfare initiatives.
Wan Rosdy noted that the Jelajah Wira MADANI programme succeeded in strengthening ties between armed forces veterans and state government agencies.
He added that the selection of Sungai Koyan as the venue was appropriate as many military retirees reside in the area.
Wan Rosdy said that apart from honouring the veterans, the programme also served to educate the community about the field of defence and the responsibilities of military personnel in safeguarding national peace.

“In addition to strengthening ties, programmes like this allow various government agencies and organisations to work together in organising integrated activities for the local community,” he explained.
He further noted that the programme provides exposure to the young generation about the roles and contributions of defence personnel.
This exposure helps nurture their interest in pursuing a career in the military field according to the Menteri Besar. – Bernama
