Sabah’s GRS seeks fresh mandate to continue development drive

Chief Minister Hajiji Noor says GRS needs new mandate to advance Sabah’s development through proven SMJ framework.

KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah requires a fresh mandate from voters to continue implementing development plans that will elevate Sabah to be comparable with other states, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The GRS chairman stated that the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya 1.0 policy has established a solid foundation to drive Sabah toward becoming a superior and respected state.

“Over the past five years, the GRS-led state government has achieved many successes through the Hala Tuju SMJ development plan,” he said in a statement after meeting the GRS Sulaman election machinery at Dewan Rumpun Bajau Samah in Tuaran.

“We prioritise the development of the people, we fight to improve the living standards of the poor and the education of Sabah children.”

Hajiji highlighted the initiative providing RM300 monthly to approximately 100,000 heads of hardcore poor households on the e-Kasih list, which began this year and was never previously implemented by any government.

The state government now provides 40 units of free Rumah Mesra SMJ in each constituency for the needy, compared to only four units under the previous Poor People’s Housing Programme.

He urged voters not to make mistakes in selecting the new state government since GRS has demonstrated capability through clear agenda and struggle.

“We are not a government that only knows how to talk, lie and promise the moon and stars,” said the Sulaman seat candidate.

Hajiji described this election as unique with 596 candidates contesting 73 seats but expressed confidence that voters would choose wisely.

The GRS Sulaman election machinery remains in good condition and ready for the election campaign.

He instructed party machinery across all areas to engage voters directly and explain GRS contributions, achievements and future plans. – Bernama
