France interior ministry confirms a cyber attack on its email servers, with an investigation launched and access security tightened.
PARIS: The French Interior Ministry’s email servers were targeted in a cyber attack this week.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed the incident on Friday, stating an investigation is underway.

“There has been a cyber attack. An attacker was able to access a number of files … there is no evidence that they were seriously compromised,” Nunez told RTL radio.
He added that protection measures have been implemented in response.
“We have put in place protection measures. We strengthened conditions of access to the computer system for our agents … an investigation is under way,” he said.
The origin of the attack remains unknown at this stage. – Reuters
