Greece moves its Iran embassy services from Tehran to Baku, citing deteriorating security, joining other European nations in the exodus.
ATHENS: Greece has announced it will relocate its embassy services for Iran from Tehran to Baku in Azerbaijan, becoming the latest European nation to do so amid heightened regional tensions.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Lana Zochiou stated the decision was taken due to deteriorating security conditions in the Iranian capital.
The move follows similar temporary relocations by Spain, Austria, and Italy, which have also shifted their embassy operations to Baku in recent days.
Switzerland announced on Wednesday that it was temporarily closing its embassy in Tehran.
