German Chancellor Friedrich Merz discussed Russian strikes on Ukraine with President Zelenskiy ahead of a NATO summit next week.
BERLIN: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy by phone, including about recent Russian air strikes on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine, a German government statement said on Saturday.
The call comes ahead of a NATO summit next week in Ankara, Turkey, where NATO members are set to pledge €70 billion ($80 billion) in military assistance to Ukraine for 2026.
