A Portland driver weaponised a vehicle before a border agent fired a defensive shot, leaving two people hospitalised, says Homeland Security.
PORTLAND: A driver in Portland, Oregon, “weaponised” a vehicle during a border patrol stop before an officer fired a defensive shot, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday during a vehicle stop conducted by US Border Patrol agents.
DHS stated on social media platform X that the passenger of the vehicle was the target of the stop.

Portland police confirmed on Thursday that two people were hospitalised following a shooting involving federal agents.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in southeast Portland on Thursday afternoon.
Police found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds at the scene.
