MALAYSIAN mixed doubles pair Jimmy Wong-Lai Pei Jing have advanced to the Korea Masters final in Jeonbuk.
The third seeds battled past South Korean duo An Yun Seong-Lee Yu Lim 21-14, 19-21, 21-15 in a 59-minute semi-final clash at Wonkwang University Cultural and Sports Centre.
World number 37 Jimmy-Pei Jing will face another Korean pair, eighth seeds Kim Jae Hyeon-Jeoung Na Eun, in tomorrow’s championship match.
Jae Hyeon-Na Eun secured their final spot by defeating compatriots Wang Chan-Kim Yu Jung 21-19, 21-10.
The Malaysian pair, who partnered in March, have reached six previous finals this year without securing a title.
Their runner-up finishes came at the Vietnam International Challenge, Phuket International Series, St Denis Reunion Open, Macau Open, Indonesia Masters I and Indonesia Masters II. – Bernama
