Da Ma Cai volunteers bring festive cheer to disabled children through donations and celebration activities.
Da Ma Cai’s Staff-in-the-Community Programme brought festive cheer to vulnerable children and adults this holiday season through a meaningful outreach initiative at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan OKU Mesra Petaling Jaya.
As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, staff volunteers from the Malaysian numbers forecast operator organized a comprehensive support visit that combined essential aid with festive celebrations, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to community welfare.
Essential Support for Daily Operations
The outreach began with volunteers purchasing and donating critical daily necessities to support the home’s operational needs.
The contributions included staple food items such as rice, cooking oil, milk powder, and biscuits, alongside essential supplies like disposable diapers – a critical need for the facility where more than half of the 49 residents require assistance with personal hygiene.
Cash vouchers were also contributed to provide the home with flexibility in managing day-to-day operational requirements, ensuring continued quality care for all residents.

A Festive Celebration to Remember
To bring Christmas spirit to the home, volunteers organised a special afternoon celebration featuring entertainment designed to create joy and lasting memories. An interactive magic show filled with music, balloons, and laughter captivated residents of all ages, creating a cheerful and uplifting atmosphere throughout the facility.
Professional face painters added to the festivities by creating Christmas-themed designs for the children, while special birthday cakes were prepared to commemorate the birthdays of three residents, ensuring no celebration was overlooked during the holiday season.
Supporting a Vital Community Organization
Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan OKU Mesra Petaling Jaya serves as a crucial care facility for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
The non-profit organisation currently provides care and support for 49 individuals aged between 9 and 60 years old, many living with conditions including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and learning disabilities.
The home faces significant daily challenges, with 16 residents fully dependent on staff for feeding and more than half requiring comprehensive personal care assistance.
“Every disabled person is equal to an ordinary person, having the ability to learn and adapt to the surroundings, and able to enjoy their lives with others,” shared caretaker Chris Ng.
“Continued community engagement plays an important role in supporting and improving the quality of life of our residents.”

Building Tomorrow’s CSR Leaders
Da Ma Cai’s approach to this initiative included actively involving Graduate Trainees in the outreach activities, providing early career exposure to meaningful community service and the company’s CSR values.
“For this round of visits, we actively involved our Graduate Trainees,” said a Da Ma Cai representative. “This approach introduces them to our CSR initiatives while providing valuable, hands-on exposure to meaningful community service early in their careers.”
The impact on participating staff members was evident, with one volunteer sharing: “This experience has been truly eye-opening, especially seeing the shiny smile on the residents face. I’ve learned a great deal and hope to encourage more colleagues to participate in similar charitable activities in the future.”
Sustained Commitment to Community Welfare
Da Ma Cai, a brand of Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd (PMP), Malaysia’s authorised numbers forecast operator, maintains an active annual program supporting various causes in education and social welfare throughout the country. The company’s commitment extends beyond individual initiatives, with all of PMP’s net dividends donated to The Community Chest, providing long-term support for the benefit of the Malaysian community.
