Maxim Malaysia has officially received approval from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to continue its e-hailing services across the country after completing a three-month monitoring period.
Maxim Malaysia legal compliance and government relations representative Mushfique Ahmed outlined the areas the company focused on throughout the period.
This includes improving the legalisation process, providing financial and informational support for drivers, enhancing safety features and building an inclusive community through social responsibility initiatives.
During this time, the company submitted all required reports and implemented key improvements to ensure full driver licensing compliance.
With these efforts, Maxim passed the inspection and is cleared to continue providing online e-hailing services across the country.
To strengthen compliance, Maxim said it has conducted an internal audit of public service vehicle (PSV) and e-hailing vehicle permit (eVP) licences, updated its driver onboarding process and enhanced more rigorous inspection.
This includes offering financial support of up to RM400 for new drivers and introducing a zero per cent commission incentive for newly-approved drivers.
The company also collaborates with driving schools and provides drivers with a fast process of getting PSV with after full coverage of expenses.
On safety, Maxim has launched women-only ride options in selected east coast cities, provided child seats to top-performing drivers in Terengganu, and enhanced the SOS button for faster emergency contact.
As part of its social responsibility, Maxim has expanded support for persons with disabilities (OKU) through zero per cent commission for OKU drivers and improved service options for OKU customers.
The company also continued community initiatives such as Independence Day and Malaysia Day campaigns, transportation support for the blind community, and blood donation drives.
