Local Govt: Gazans face ‘death sentence’ as communications remain cut

GAZA CITY: The entire Gaza Strip is facing a “death sentence” since losing the ability to contact ambulance and emergency teams after Israel cut off communications in the enclave, the Gaza Media Office said Monday

On Oct 27, Israel severed all forms of communication in Gaza for 36 consecutive hours before restoring connectivity.

In a statement reviewed by Anadolu Agency, it reported the media office warned of the serious repercussions of cutting communications and the internet in Gaza, saying it entails a complete concealment of all war crimes committed by the Israeli occupying army.

It pointed out that more than 2.3 million people in the Strip would be unable to communicate with rescue, emergency, relief, medical, civil defense and municipal teams as well as all governmental and non-governmental institutions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the office affirmed that they would also be unable to communicate with each other, leading to the complete execution of Gaza.

It added the government office said this is “a new crime added to the record of violations of international law and various international conventions, considering it a breach of the most basic rights stipulated in international norms.”-Bernama
