Rapid Bus restructures Klang Valley routes, shifts 19 to on-demand service

Rapid Bus will convert 19 low-ridership bus routes in the Klang Valley to an on-demand service starting January 16 to improve efficiency

KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will restructure selected bus routes across the Klang Valley from January 16 to enhance service quality.

The first phase involves fully converting 16 MRT feeder routes and three standard Rapid KL routes to the Rapid KL On-Demand service.

These 19 routes represent 7% of the 281 total bus routes operated by Rapid KL, which includes MRT and LRT feeder services.

Acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said the data-driven decision follows the Demand-Led Bus Network Study initiated in mid-2024.

The comprehensive review of actual passenger usage patterns enabled the realignment of routes and schedules with current demand.

Ku Jamil stated this move aims to boost operational efficiency and service reliability.

Passenger access will continue uninterrupted via the bookable Rapid KL On-Demand service.

The service can be booked through the dedicated Rapid On-Demand app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Rapid Bus committed to a seamless transition with regular updates on its website and official social media channels.

The public can contact the Rapid KL hotline at 03-7885 2585 or email suggest@rapidkl.com.my for inquiries.
