Over 46,000 students in Perlis benefit from RM6.9 million in early schooling assistance, with RM150 per child to be distributed this week.
KANGAR: The state of Perlis has received an allocation of RM6.96 million for the Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) programme this year.
The funding will benefit 46,382 students across 104 primary and secondary schools statewide.
Perlis Education Director Rose Aza Che Arifin said RM3.7 million is designated for 24,683 pupils in 74 primary schools.

A further RM3.25 million will assist 21,699 students in 30 secondary schools.
She confirmed that parents will receive RM150 for each school-going child.
“I hope parents will fully utilise this assistance for their children’s schooling needs,” Rose Aza said.
She stressed that schools are not permitted to make any deductions from the aid for other payments.
The distribution of the assistance is expected to be completed by this week.
The standard operating procedure allows for the process to be completed within 30 days from the start of the 2026 school session.
Rose Aza made the remarks after the state-level BAP 2026 mock cheque handing-over ceremony at SJKC Khoon Aik.
