M’sian claims diners wanted to cancel Rembayung bookings as Khairul Aming visits Langkawi; KA responds professionally

However, Khairul Aming was quick to clarify the situation with actual data—and the numbers told a very different story.

A Malaysian netizen recently claimed that Khairul Aming’s visit to Langkawi lead to many potential Rembayung patrons to cancel their bookings.

“People were willing to cancel bookings and even sell their slots to others. They went to Rembayung just to meet KA, not really for the food,” the user claimed.

However, Khairul Aming was quick to clarify the situation with actual data—and the numbers told a very different story.

“Based on yesterday’s data, only two people didn’t show up,” he said, adding that out of 503 reservations at Umai, 501 customers turned up—a 99.6% attendance rate.

According to him, the day also marked the restaurant’s highest customer turnout and highest sales since opening.

“We’re increasing capacity to 550 pax tomorrow and 600 pax the day after,” he shared.

“Hopefully by next week we can reach 80% capacity.”

Khairul Aming also reassured customers that operations remain smooth even when he is not present.

“Even though I’m not around, we’ve trained our staff to really take care of customers so everyone leaves happy,” he said.

As of noon today, he added, lunch service was already fully booked with full attendance.

The clarification quickly drew praise from netizens, many applauding Khairul Aming for addressing speculation with transparency and hard numbers.

“Data-driven, not gut feeling. You are a genius,” praised a netizen.

“No sweeping statements, only numbers because numbers don’t lie. Smooth, KA,” said another.
