KUALA LUMPUR: Professional mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2026 India Open Badminton Championship.
The Malaysian duo defeated Thailand’s Ruttanapak Oupthong and Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat in a second-round match at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.
The tournament’s eighth seeds recovered from losing the first set 17-21 to win the next two 21-15 and 21-6 in a 52-minute encounter.

The victory books Soon Huat and Shevon a quarter-final meeting with China’s top seeds, Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping.
The Chinese pair earlier eliminated the national professional mixed doubles duo of Jimmy Wong and Lai Pei Jing.
