Noor Hisam added that no police report has been lodged regarding the alleged abuse.

He confirmed the boy has been handed over to his biological father, who also lives in the district.

The incident went viral on social media yesterday, alleging the teenager was abused by his stepmother and found at the Taiping KTMB station.

It is believed the boy wanted to return to his grandfather’s residence in Anak Bukit, Kedah.

Noor Hisam advised the public to be more responsible in using social media and not to issue statements without clear evidence.

In a separate development, he said police are evaluating all permit applications for the sale of fireworks, including sparklers, for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration. – Bernama
