BN candidate ramps up hybrid campaign for Lamag by-election

BN’s Mohd Ismail Ayob combines on-ground outreach and social media to woo voters in the Lamag state seat, with polling set for Jan 24.

KINABATANGAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Lamag state by-election Mohd Ismail Ayob is intensifying a hybrid campaign strategy to secure voter support.

He said the combined conventional and digital approach ensures his manifesto and development plans reach all voter segments comprehensively.

Mohd Ismail, known as Miha, stated that face-to-face interactions allow him to explain his mission directly and understand local issues.

He emphasised that social media is a crucial strategic channel to engage young voters and constituents living outside the area.

“Social media is very important in election campaigns because we know it is quite impossible to meet everyone in the community,” he told reporters after a walkabout at Bukit Garam Point.

He added that digital platforms help disseminate his campaign’s vision and manifesto more widely.

Mohd Ismail reported positive feedback from nearly 80% of the constituency covered in the past week.

He remains optimistic about reaching the entire Lamag state constituency before polling day on Jan 24.

His manifesto, set for launch tomorrow, will focus on tourism, education, local issues, and community needs.

The Lamag by-election is a straight fight between Mohd Ismail and Warisan’s Mazliwati Abdul Malek.

It is held concurrently with a three-cornered Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election following the death of incumbent Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin on Dec 5.
